Why? That is because of the spoilers released by the Dragonball Super Manga. But, will it really happen? I don't think so.
As the spoilers for episode 123 suggest that Vegeta is going to challenge the strongest, it means he will lock horns with Jiren from Universe 11. He will be going out for an all-out attack on the most powerful warrior from all the universes. Naturally, he is going to be overwhelmed as Jiren is the mortal whose power rivals that of a God of Destruction.
But will that overwhelming, really act as a trigger to unleash Vegeta's power to the next level, just like what happened in Goku's case? Ummm...no. That's because Vegeta doesn't have a heart as kind as Goku. Moreover, Goku had absorbed the power of the Spirit Bomb and his shell had broken. Vegeta doesn't know this kind of attack. He will not absorb any power hence, would be limited to the Super Saiyan Blue state.
As far as the spoilers are concerned I think they are referring to Goku. But who knows, let's see what happens next?
